Congressman Scott Murphy visits high school's
award-winning Project Lead the Way program
Congressman Scott Murphy was the honored guest on Feb. 5 at Saratoga Springs High School, where he spoke to students and teachers in the Project Lead the Way pre-engineering program. The award-winning program has been recognized for excellence in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. About 450 students at the high school are enrolled in Project Lead the Way courses. Above, Murphy, left, shakes hands with student Tristan DeJesus. Below is high school technology teacher Michael Gallagher, left, with student James Millar. Gallagher was honored in November 2009 as one of ten outstanding educators from across the United States recognized for excellence in STEM education. The "Building the Future Award" was presented to him by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation and its industry partner, 3M.
