Free Breakfast and Lunch Offered to All Students Beginning November 1

We are excited to announce that all students enrolled in Saratoga Springs City School District will be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning November 1, 2023.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.

No further action is required of families to receive the free meals beginning November 1, 2023.  Free meals under CEP only apply to a complete breakfast and/or lunch. A complete lunch consists of at least three of the five food components offered (milk, grain, protein fruit & and vegetable).

A la carte items such as snacks, ice cream, drinks, and doubles must still be paid for, and students will be charged for milk if it is not taken with a complete meal.
