We are excited to announce the appointment of three new leaders in our district. Ms. Katie Ehmann has been named the new Assistant Principal at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School. At Maple Avenue Middle School, we welcome Ms. Kara Likar and Ms. Christine Vilardo as Assistant Principals.
Ms. Ehmann returns to the district after serving as the Assistant Principal at Stillwater Elementary School. She began her career as an elementary teacher at Dorothy Nolan Elementary School. Ms. Ehmann earned a bachelor’s degree in childhood education, a master’s degree in special education, and a certificate of advanced study in administration from Plattsburgh State University. She holds a permanent certificate from New York State as a teacher for pre-kindergarten through grade 6 and special education.
Ms. Likar most recently served as the Assistant Principal of Castleton Elementary School. Prior to that, she worked as a social studies teacher and administrative intern at Shenendehowa’s Acadia Middle School. Ms. Likar earned a bachelor’s degree in social studies secondary education from Molloy College, a master’s degree in secondary education from the University at Albany, and a certificate of advanced study in school building leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She holds a permanent certificate from New York State as a social studies teacher and an initial certificate from New York State as a School Building Leader.
Ms. Vilardo joins the middle school after serving as a conduct and restorative instructional coach and an English teacher at Saratoga Springs High School. Prior to that, she worked as an English teacher at Queensbury Middle School. Ms. Vilardo earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Hartwick College, a master’s degree in secondary education from the University at Albany, and a certificate of advanced study in school building leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She holds a permanent certificate from New York State as an English teacher and an initial certificate from New York State as a School Building Leader.
