Club Meetings and Information  

  • The first meeting of the International Club will take place on Wednesday, September 25 in room 255. All are welcome to join us!
  • There will be a student council meeting after school on Wednesday, September 25 in Mrs. Kerls room D178.
  • Math Club will be having its first meeting and first ever Counting Bee in Room R232 on Wednesday, September 25 after school. Math Club is open to any student Grade 6-8. The Counting Bee is open to Maple students, ages 13 and up. The winner will receive a prize and get the chance to compete against the winners from other schools on October 2! See Mrs. Miles in R232 for questions.
  • MAGSA, which is Maple Avenue’s Gay Straight Alliance, will have its first meeting on Wednesday, September 25th in room E138. The club is for any middle school student — LGBTQ+, friends, and allies. See Mr. Kane with any questions!
  • Ski Club paperwork is now available in your house office or the main office. Complete it carefully and turn it in ONLY on the following days: 7th & 8th graders: before period 1 outside Student Services on Wednesday, September 25, or Thursday, September 26. 6th graders: before period 1 outside Student Services on Friday, September 27. Students who do not submit their paperwork on these due dates will be placed on a waiting list for the bus. Check the packet for more details and see Mr. Scrivo or Mrs. Deutsch if you have any questions. 
  • Are you interested in the history of Scotland? Are you curious about the Great Highland Bagpipes? Does the bagpipe band in a parade make you smile? The Maple Avenue Introduction to Bagpiping Club is the place for you! The Introduction to Bagpiping Club will have its first meeting on Monday, September 23rd at 2:35 in P222, Ms. Barber’s room. You do not need to bring your own instrument. A practice chanter will be provided to get you started. Pipe on!
  • Here is a Hispanic Heritage Month Fact: Hispanic refers to people who speak Spanish, and Latino refers to a Latin America country. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States, with over 42 million Spanish speakers across the country!
