An Update On Safety In Our District

Dear SSCSD Families,

As a district, we continue to keep the Uvalde school community in our thoughts and reflect on both the safety and the well-being of our own students and staff.

The district values our partnerships with our local law enforcement agencies, and we continue to work closely with the Saratoga Springs Police Department, Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Police to help keep our schools safe.  The district has been in direct contact with leadership from each of our local law enforcement agencies over the past two days and we appreciate the incredible support they continue to provide to our schools and community.  Each department has offered to increase its presence at our schools in the coming weeks, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Additionally, patrol officers will be visiting our schools throughout the day.

We also want to remind our families that our district has school psychologists, school counselors, and social workers available to provide support to any student who is struggling. If you feel your child needs to speak with someone, please reach out to your child’s school building.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools.

Sincerely,
Dr. Michael Patton
Superintendent of Schools
