Seniors: It’s the time of the year!

College Visits have begun: There are many schools holding visits from now until mid-December. To register, log into your Naviance account. See the counseling office or the bulletin board outside the counseling office for more information.

 

Senior conferences have begun in the counseling office. Seniors – please check your school email for the date/time!

 

Ski and Snowboard Club

The Ski and Snowboard Club will be collecting applications for membership.  The club runs weekly visits to West Mountain on Thursday nights, starting after the winter break.  Anyone interested should pick up an application from the library.  Completed applications will be accepted by Mr. Chilton in the library during Flex.  Think Snow.

 

The Mock trial team will be held today, October 17th in room D217 at 2:30 p.m.  We will be planning out the team’s schedule and discussing participation in the University of Rochester tournament.

 

The Nordic Ski Team will be having an informational meeting today, October 17th in room D110 at 2:30 p.m.  If you cannot attend, please see Coach Besler for more information.  Check out the Nordic Ski promo video on StudentSquare.

 

The Blue Streak Athletes are giving back to our community by holding a virtual food drive to support the Franklin Community Center from October 10-October 31st.  Anyone can scan the QR code found on the flyers throughout the building, or email sent to your coaches.  Anyone can donate to help reach our goal of $2024 to combat food insecurity in our community.  Be sure to include Blue Streaks and which fall sport you want to represent in the donation comments.  Bragging rights are on the line to see which sport can raise the most money!  If you have any questions, please reach out to Nicky Hayes using nhayes@sscsd.net.

 

The Table Tennis Club will start activities on Friday, October 18th at 2:30 p.m.  All players are welcome, no experience necessary.  Learn technique and improve your game.  This is a fun game that you will enjoy now and for years after you graduate.  We will be meeting after school in front of the White Gym.

 

Attention Seniors!

Your Class of 2025 Senior Superlatives are ready to be nominated.  Please check your school email for the form.  You have until Friday, October 18th, to vote for your class favorites. In addition, this year you will be voting on Staff Superlatives.  Be sure to nominate your favorite staff members.  This too can be found on your school email, and this too will be open until next Friday, October 18th.

 

NASA Club will be meeting today, October 17th, after school in Room G120 to discuss a possible Saturday trip to RPI for their open observatory night to view the night sky.  All are welcome.

The Entrepreneurs Club will meet on Tuesday, October 22nd right after school in room D218. All are welcome!

 

The Key club is meeting today after school to discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and fundraising. We meet in E110 with snacks and late buses.

 

Young Democrats club is meeting tomorrow afterschool in room B115. Join us for political discussion and snacks! All are welcome!

 

Alpine ski team will have an interest meeting Tuesday October 22 at 2:30 in the high school TA.

 

The Shades of Blue Creative Writing Club will have its next meeting on Tuesday, October 22nd at 2:30 in B201 (Mrs. Gallagher’s room). We will discuss future plans, have snacks, and plan activities for the upcoming Homecoming Block Party. See Mrs. Gallagher if you have any questions. All Creative Writers welcome!!
