Information on Saratoga Springs High School Hold-in-Place

This morning, after the start of the school day, a box of bullets was found on the ground outside of the front entrance of Saratoga Springs High School by district staff.

Out of an abundance of caution, the high school entered into a hold-in-place for approximately 40 minutes while the situation was thoroughly assessed. The Saratoga Springs Police Department was contacted immediately to assist with the investigation in determining how the bullets were brought onto campus. Following an investigation, it was determined that a student unknowingly and unintentionally brought the bullets on campus and they were dropped out of a bag.

No threat to the school community was determined. Please know that the safety and well-being of our school community remain our highest priority. We are grateful for the swift action of our staff and the partnership with local law enforcement in resolving this matter safely.
