Legacy Capital Project Work Scheduled For Summer 2024

As part of the legacy capital project, approved by residents in 2020, improvements and renovations will be made to all eight school buildings and the transportation facility over the next several years.  The project will create energy and operational efficiencies throughout the District as well as protect the community’s long-term investment in our school facilities.

Learn more about the upcoming work at Division Street Elementary School, Dorothy Nolan Elementary School, Greenfield Elementary School, and Saratoga Springs High School.

Division Street Elementary School

Building Enhancements:

  • Classroom renovations for grades 3, 4 and 5
  • Stage Lighting replacement in gymnasium
  • Secure vestibule renovations
  • Kitchen renovations including a new serving line
  • Exterior door replacements
  • Mechanical and electrical upgrades
  • Select roofing replacement
Community Impact:  During the summer,  the main Office will be moved to Dorothy Nolan and will re-open on August 26.  The Division Street playground will be closed for the summer. West Side Recreation will be open.

Dorothy Nolan Elementary School

Building Enhancements:

  • Stage lighting replacement in large gymnasium
  • Wood cabinet replacement in kindergarten classrooms
  • Modifications to the west entrance and to the bus loop
  • Corridor renovation of the 4th grade wing
Community Impact: The west entrance to the bus loop will be closed starting June 27th and will re-open August 26th. Public coming to the building should use the east entrance to the bus loop.  Playgrounds will be open and visitors are asked to park in parent drop-off loop.

Greenfield Elementary School

Building Enhancements:

  • Renovations to first grade classrooms
  • Kitchen renovations including a new serving line
  • Cafeteria floor renovations
  • Bathroom renovations in first-grade corridor
  • Select roofing replacement
  • Stage lighting replacement in the gymnasium
  • Mechanical and electrical upgrades
Community Impact: During summer 2024, the playground will be closed.
Greenfield Recreation summer programming will be held at Maple Avenue Middle School.

Saratoga Springs High School

Building Enhancements:

  • C-wing 1st floor (Head Start) structural repair
  • Flooring replacement in blue gym hallway
  • Select bathroom renovations
  • Auditorium stage lighting and curtain updates
  • Select roofing replacement
  • West Avenue entrance improvements and addition of right turn lane
  • Mechanical and electrical upgrades
Community Impact: The West Ave. bus loop entrance will be closed from June 27th to August 26th. Visitors should use the West Circular entrance
The Head Start program will relocate to Caroline Street for the summer.
