Maple Avenue Middle School’s mission is to create a learning community that encourages intellectual and personal growth in a positive and caring culture.
Attendance
When your child is absent, email maple_attendance@saratogaschools.org or call the Attendance Office at (518) 587-4551, ext. 12001 (as early as possible), to state the reason and date of absence.
If an absence is not reported prior to 10:30 a.m., parents/guardians will receive an attendance message through ParentSquare notifying them of their student’s absence. Parents/guardians will be able to respond to the message through ParentSquare with a digital note to excuse their child’s absence.
When a student is tardy, they must report to the attendance office immediately upon arrival. A note should be brought in stating the reason for tardiness. Multiple tardies may be referred to grade level administrator or attendance supervisor.
If you are having difficulty getting your child to attend school, call the Attendance Supervisor at (518) 587-4551, ext. 12020.
If your child has a change to their regularly scheduled dismissal, for example they will be picked-up by a parent instead of taking the bus home on a particular day, please email maple_attendance@saratogaschools.org by 2:00 p.m. at the latest. In the email, please indicate your child’s name and their teacher’s name, as well as the specific dates involved. If your child is being picked up early or being changed to a sign-out, please put the name of the person signing them out on the email.

The Saratoga Springs City School District Code of Conduct applies to all students, school personnel, parents and visitors when on school property, including school buses and other school-owned vehicles, or when attending a school-sponsored event or function. PBIS
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support is an evidence-based systems approach to preventing and responding to school and classroom discipline problems. PBIS teaches positive behaviors in the school setting, reinforces these behaviors, and creates a safe learning environment for ALL of our students.
Students will be taught positive behaviors and character education throughout the school year. Lessons will be presented during a monthly 22 minute extended Home Base. These lessons will align with skills being taught through the character education curriculum.
