Club Meetings and Information May 2nd, 2024

We invite you to attend a Student Voices event on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at Division Street Elementary School. Hear from a panel of current students who are committed to making our school community more inclusive. Learn about the district’s No Place for Hate initiative and engage with student representatives from various clubs and activities from each school in the district. Free ice cream will be served!

Ms. Douglas and Mrs. Lowrie’s class will be selling popcorn on Friday 5/3 during lunches. The popcorn table will be open after each lunch period begins, not during the transition into lunch. We will only be selling one bag per student.

Attention 8th Graders attending the Washington, D.C. trip!!!! Next Tuesday, May 7, at 8pm in the auditorium there is a MANDATORY meeting for you and ONE of your parents to attend about the trip. Your attendance is required if you plan on participating in this trip. Tuesday night at 8pm, in our auditorium.

8th Graders attending the Washington, D.C. trip can find their bus assignment outside cafeteria 1. Make sure you know what bus you are on.

Attention guitar club members. Tomorrow’s session is cancelled. The next meeting will be next Thursday, 5/9.

This Saturday May 4th is Star Wars Day, so we invite all students to wear their favorite Star Wars shirt on Friday! “May the FOURTH be with you!”

Jazz Band Club will rehearse this evening from 6:30-7:30pm.

Please help No Place for Hate combat assumptions! We are posting a quick and easy activity on Canvas for Flex today. All you need to do is go to our Forms link and complete a fill in the blank sentence about you or about an assumption. This activity is completely anonymous. Your answer will be recorded and maybe posted but it will be completely anonymous! In Forms, everyone will see the same sentence: Just because I’m____________ doesn’t mean I’m_____________. Please type in a sentence filling in the blanks. For example: Just because I’m tall doesn’t mean I play basketball. Just because I get good grades doesn’t mean it’s easy. There are no wrong answers for this activity! Thank you for helping us recognize and combat assumptions!
