In the upcoming weeks, the district will administer the New York State Grades 3-8 English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests to students. In addition, the New York State Science Exam will be administered in 5th and 8th grade. The statewide exams are designed to measure how well students are mastering the learning standards that guide classroom instruction and to provide the district with valuable information on a student’s learning and growth.
The ELA exams will begin on April 6th, the math exams will begin on April 29th, and the science exams will be held on May 13th. More information will be coming from your child’s principal containing the specific dates and times of the assessments.
Our instructional staff has been preparing students to take the assessments and apply the many concepts they have learned throughout the school year.
