SSHS: Important Things to Know 2022-23

Dear SSHS Students and Families,
We are excited for the return of students to our building on Thursday, September 8, 2022!  As we are preparing for everyone to return, we are sharing some updates to building procedures for students to prepare for:
Scheduling:
  • Schedules were released in SchoolTool on Saturday, August 27. Some students were unable to access schedules directly via SchoolTool.  Students were most successful accessing their schedules by going to SchoolTool via Clever.
  • Lunch schedules were made available on the HS website, as well. Students will be able to locate their lunch by searching for their Block 3 teachers and courses.  The link to the lunch schedule is here:  https://www.saratogaschools.org/saratoga-springs-high-school/about-the-high-school/school-schedule/
    • The lunch schedule is subject to change for the first few weeks of school.  Your teachers will let you know if there is a change.
Student IDs, Devices, and Passwords:
  • All students will be issued new Student IDs this year.  Students may pick them up during the walkthrough in A109 (across from Nurse Office) from 9AM-2:30PM on Wednesday, August 31.
    • School IDs will be very important for various uses:  transportation, purchasing breakfast/lunch, used for entrance at games/events, scanning into library
  • Students must have their new ID in order to pick up a device.
  • A school-issued device may only be picked up after the user agreement form has been signed by a parent/guardian.  Here is a link to the agreement form:  https://forms.office.com/r/r4kV0Es6sE
  • On September 8th, in Academic Support/Flex, all High School student passwords will be reset to: Toga####.  The purpose of the password change is to increase account security.
    • The “####” represents the last 4 digits of the student’s ID number.  A student’s ID number can be found in SchoolTool now.
    • Students will have time in Flex to sign into their school accounts – devices, SchoolTool, Clever, etc. with their new password.
    • If any assistance is needed, submit an IT ticket using the following link: Incident IQ | Remote Support Ticket.  A member of our IT team will assist you as soon as possible.
School Safety Changes:
  • In order to maintain the safety of our students and staff at all times, students may only enter and exit the building using the Main Entrance.  This limits the ability of unknown individuals coming in any side doors at any time.  The “senior lot door” will be locked at all times.
  • In accordance to limiting unknown individuals into our buildings and to secure our schools, SSCSD will no longer allow food delivery services for students during the school day.
Wednesday Early Dismissal and Student Athletes:
  • With the early dismissal time of 1:47 on Wednesdays, some student athletes may need to remain in school until a practice or game.  Therefore, student-athletes will be allowed to remain on campus.
  • Student-athletes will have a mandatory meeting with the Athletic Director after school on Wednesday, September 14 in the Loewenberg Auditorium.  Athletes will receive a sticker designation for their Student ID cards to remain on campus.
  • Student-athletes will be allowed to stay in the cafeteria for a Sports Study Hall prior to their practice or game, and must show their ID cards with the designation.
  • All other students must leave campus at the dismissal time.
    Food Services:
    • Students who require meal support for breakfast and lunch must apply using the information below.  We will no longer be able to offer free breakfast and lunch for all students.  We encourage anyone who needs food assistance during school to complete the application.
    • SSCSD has switched to TITAN for food service payments (no longer using PayPams).  To sign up, please scan or use the link below:
We know this is a lot of information, but we want to make sure you are fully informed prior to the start of the school year.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We look forward to seeing our students soon!

    Sincerely,
    SSHS Leadership Team
